About Us

Welcome to FBC Cache!

The First Baptist Church of Cache exists to gather in worship of the Lord, to grow through the teaching of God’s Word, and to go into our community and to the nations with the good news that Jesus saves.

We are committed to faithful, verse-by-verse teaching of Scripture and to living out our faith with seriousness, humility, and purpose.

What is the gospel?
Here’s a short and simple explanation of the gospel:  The gospel is the good news that God sent his one and only Son, Jesus, to live a perfect, holy life and to die the death that we deserved because of our sin (Romans 3:23).  After his death on the cross, Jesus resurrected from the dead so that we would know that God alone has the power and authority over sin and death and has made a way for us to be reconciled to God (Romans 5:1-11).  We must put our faith in Jesus alone to save us from our sin (John 14:6).  We believe that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

WHAT WE BELIEVE (Short Version)
What we believe as a church is based on the Holy Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God.  We unite ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, committed to sharing the good news of salvation with people who are not believers. We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances commanded by Jesus Christ to implement among our body. (Acts 2:41-42; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Scripture: The Scripture is the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice. We believe that the Bible was written by divinely inspired men and is God’s revelation of Himself and His will to man. The Bible is the Word of God, and as such is wholly true in everything it affirms. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 18:30; 119:2)

God: We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit. These three persons are one God, and worthy of precisely the same confidence, obedience and worship. (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4)

We believe that God, by His sovereign choice and His love for mankind, sent Jesus into the world to bring people back into fellowship with Him through regeneration. Regeneration is a change of the heart, accomplished by the Holy Spirit, who gives life to those dead in trespasses and sins, renewing their minds to understand the word of God, and renewing their whole nature. This salvation, with its forgiveness of sin, is a gift available to all who believe. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1-5; Titus 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-13)

FBC Cache enjoys a plethora of cultural, social and even “like-faith” denominational backgrounds due to our proximity of Fort Sill Military Base. We embrace and value our diversity with unity in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. FBC Cache is a member church of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The SBC adopted a doctrinal statement, The Baptist Faith and Message, which reflects the core beliefs of FBC Cache.
